The original name was tweele, the Scottish for 'twill', the cloth being woven in a twilled rather than a plain pattern. The better the quality the closer the twill, this will result in a smoother feel to the fabric.

We have a range of our own tweeds for the riding jackets, added to that is the range of tweed you'll find here for your fashion jackets too. All the Helios tweed are 100% Scottish and are all manufactured right here in the UK.

We have specially created Riding Jackets to allow the rider's jacket to sit perfectly seated as on foot.
